The Journey Begins

It's early in the morning here in the boro and families are rising up to head off to the airport to send or join their loved ones on a trip to the City of Children, Ensenada, Baja, Mexico.  Our plane will be lifted more by the wings of prayer that accompany and protect us than by Mr. Newton's 2nd & 3rd Laws.  Those who remain at home are as much a part of this trip as those who make the journey. You've supported us at garage sales and hotdog parking lot picnics. You've prayed and continue to pray for us. You hug us as we go and you hug us as we return. We thank you for your service behind the scenes as parents and friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.  Our prayer is that you, too, will be encouraged and transformed by this trip. As Skid so often reminds us, this isn't the culmination of 51 weeks, but the first week of the next 52.  While you pray for us, we hope your prayers will all constantly be for those we seek to serve with this trip -- the children and staff of the City of Children and the people of Mexico we serve to show Christ and, who, in turn, will also show us the Lord.  Risen and alive.  This morning we rise with the Son.
